Why Northern California Calls Us First for Big Mobile Shower Trailers

Eight showers. One hookup. This trailer is CAL FIRE approved, and it is the unit we send when a lot of people need a hot shower in the same place on the same night. We own every trailer we rent, so you deal with a direct fleet, not a broker who farms the job out to whoever is free that week. Our family has spent 30+ years in event and equipment rental, and our units pass a 120-point inspection before they leave the yard. Google, Tesla, Target, eBay and BMW have rented from our network, along with the Golden State Warriors and the Oakland A’s. We are licensed and insured, A+ rated by the BBB, and backed by hundreds of five-star reviews.

One 8-stall unit handles up to about 200 people a day when the showers are spread across the morning and evening rush. Call us with your head count, your address and how many days you need it, and we will give you a quote while you are still on the phone. Prefer to type? Send the quote form and our dispatch team calls you back fast, often within the hour.

“The Lavatory NorCal brought toilet and shower trailers to our company retreat up near Lake Tahoe. The site had nothing our group needed, and these trailers were perfect. Everything was clean, the hot water never quit, and the service visits kept it that way all week.”

Inside Each Private Hot-Water Shower Room

Every room has its own door, its own short staircase with a railing, and its own lock, so nobody walks past someone else to reach a stall. Inside you get a fiberglass shower, a bench or shelf for clothes, hooks, a mirror and bright LED lights. The water comes out hot and stays hot. Each head is metered to 1.5 gallons a minute, which stretches the tank and keeps the next person from stepping into a cold rinse. Two AC units keep the rooms cool on a 105 degree afternoon in Redding and warm on a frosty October morning at a camp near Truckee, and the smart thermostat holds the temperature you set.

The four exterior sinks matter more than people expect. Folks can brush teeth, shave or wash up at the outside counter while all eight showers are busy, which cuts the line in half at 6 a.m. Simple idea. Big difference.

Where a Large Portable Shower Trailer Earns Its Keep in NorCal

Fire season is the big one. From July into November, incident base camps go up at fairgrounds, school fields and county parks across the Sierra foothills, Shasta County and the North Bay, and hundreds of firefighters come off the line covered in ash and sweat. The 8-stall is CAL FIRE approved, so it can go straight into a camp. The same goes for evacuation centers, when families leave their homes for a week in Paradise, Santa Rosa or Grass Valley and the shelter has two showers for three hundred people. Several of the photos on this page come from exactly that kind of week, including one taken as an 8-stall rolled toward an evacuation camp in Folsom.

Big industrial jobs come next. Refinery turnarounds in Martinez, Benicia and Richmond bring hundreds of contractors in for weeks of long shifts, and plant managers want everyone cleaned up before they drive home. Data center builds in Santa Clara and San Jose, flood-control and dam work along the Sacramento River, and solar farms out past Dixon and Woodland all land far from any locker room. In the Central Valley, harvest season puts large field teams in the orchards and tomato fields of Yolo, Colusa and Glenn counties, where an afternoon shower after picking in 100 degree heat is a real health benefit. Cal/OSHA’s heat illness prevention program is a good read for any summer site plan.

Then there are the people events. Multi-day music festivals with camping in Mendocino County and the foothills, trail races that finish in Auburn, youth camps in the Santa Cruz Mountains, and school campuses where the gym locker rooms are torn out for a remodel all call for a lot of showers in a short window. City and county outreach programs in Sacramento, Oakland and San Jose also book shower days, where a clean, private, hot shower helps unhoused neighbors get to a job interview or a clinic visit.

Typical 8-Stall Mobile Shower Setups We Deliver Around NorCal

These are patterns we see again and again across the region, not one dated job. Every site is a little different, and we adjust the service plan to match.

A wildfire base camp in the Sierra foothills

A camp goes up on a fairground in Placer or El Dorado County with 400 firefighters rotating through. We set two 8-stall units side by side on the infield, run one generator for both, and pump and refill every night while the crews sleep, so the morning shift starts with full tanks and clean rooms. The camp lead later told us the showers were the one thing nobody complained about.

A refinery turnaround in Contra Costa County

A plant near Martinez brings in about 300 contractors for a six-week shutdown. The 8-stall sits inside the gate near the parking lot, tied into plant power and water, and we service it on a fixed schedule set around shift change. Workers shower before they get in their cars instead of carrying grime home to their families.

A weekly shower day for an outreach program

A nonprofit in Sacramento holds a hygiene day every Tuesday in a church parking lot. We drop the trailer Monday night, the volunteers hand out towels and soap, and as many as 120 people get a private hot shower before we pump, clean and restock for the days ahead. Simple and steady. That is what makes it work.

When the job is a full emergency, our emergency shower and restroom trailers for NorCal disasters page explains how we stage several units at once, and our long-term temporary rentals in the Sacramento Valley and the Bay Area cover the multi-month projects.

How Renting a Mobile Shower Trailer From Us Works

  1. Call or send the form. Reach us at (209) 202-3741 or use the quote form with your site address, start date, rental length and expected number of showers per day.
  2. We size the setup. We check whether one 8-stall covers your peak hours or whether a second unit or a smaller add-on makes sense, then send a free quote with no hidden fees.
  3. We deliver and level it. Our driver places the trailer, levels it on its jacks, sets all eight staircases, connects power and water, and runs hot water through every head before leaving.
  4. We keep it serviced. On multi-day rentals we pump the 950 gallon waste tank, refill fresh water, clean the rooms and restock soap and paper on a set schedule.
  5. We haul it out. When the job ends we pick it up, drain everything and leave the ground the way we found it.

Power, Water and Waste Hookups for an 8-Stall Shower Unit

Power is the first question we ask. This trailer needs one dedicated 220 volt, 50 amp circuit within 100 feet, the kind of outlet an RV pedestal or a shop welder uses, and most homes and small offices do not have one sitting free. No problem. We bring a generator sized for the load and park it where the noise will not bother anyone. During fire season, PG&E can cut power to whole towns, so check the CPUC’s public safety power shutoff page if your site sits in a high-risk area, and plan on a generator either way.

Water is the second question. The 200 gallon fresh tank gives a little over two hours of total running water at 1.5 gallons a minute, which is fine for a small group but nowhere near enough for 200 people. A garden hose from a spigot or a hydrant meter fixes that, and we can bring water by truck when the site has none. The 950 gallon waste tank gets pumped on our service visits, and on long rentals we can connect it to on-site septic or a sewer cleanout if the property allows. Pick a spot that is close to level, firm enough for a truck and trailer, and about 40 feet long with room to open the awning.

Other Shower Trailer Sizes and the NorCal Cities We Serve

The 8-stall is the biggest unit in our mobile shower trailer rentals in Northern California, and plenty of jobs need something smaller. If anyone in your group uses a wheelchair, the ADA plus 2 shower trailer with a ramp entry gives you one accessible room and two standard ones. For a smaller group that also needs toilets, the compact 2-stall shower and toilet combo fits on a driveway. Remote camps often pick the 4-stall combo with a built-in laundry room. When clean clothes are the bottleneck, look at our temporary laundry trailers for NorCal job sites.

8-Stall Shower Trailer Rental Questions

How many showers per day can one 8-stall trailer handle?

Plan on up to about 200 people a day when showers are spread across the morning and evening. If everyone needs to shower in the same hour, as at a fire camp shift change, we may suggest a second unit.

Does the water stay hot when all eight stalls are running?

Yes. The heads are metered to 1.5 gallons a minute, so the water heaters keep up with steady use. A water hookup keeps the tank from running low on busy days.

Can the trailer go into a CAL FIRE incident camp?

Yes. This unit is CAL FIRE approved, and we have staged it at fire and evacuation camps across Northern California. Call our 24/7 line and we can often roll the same day.

What happens to the gray water and waste?

It all goes into the 950 gallon onboard tank. We pump it on scheduled service visits, or we connect it to on-site septic or a sewer line on long rentals where the property allows.

How much room does it need?

The trailer is 35 feet long with the tongue and a little over 12 feet wide with the stairs out. Leave about 40 feet of level ground plus a clear path for the truck to back in.

Can I rent it for a single weekend?

Yes. We rent the 8-stall for a weekend, a week or several months. Short rentals are common for festivals and races, and long ones for construction and harvest.
