The Lavatory NorCal rents the ADA plus 2 bathroom trailer, a portable restroom with one wheelchair accessible room and two private stalls, for events, schools, offices, job sites, emergencies and more across Northern California. The accessible room sits at the top of a self-contained ramp, while a women’s room and a men’s room open off their own stairs on the other side. We are the #1 luxury restroom trailer company in the region, with over 250 units in the largest fleet of bathroom trailers in the West. Call (209) 202-3741 at any hour. We can often be there within 1 to 2 hours, and our dispatch team is open 24/7 with same-day delivery from Sacramento to San Jose.

  • A+ BBB accredited rating
  • 5-star Google reviews across Northern California
  • Licensed and insured for public and private sites
  • Over 250 units in our own fleet
  • 24/7 dispatch and same-day delivery

Why The Lavatory NorCal Is the #1 Name for Accessible Bathroom Trailers

A ramp is only part of it. The accessible room in this trailer is a full luxury bathroom, with the same china toilet, steel sink and framed mirror as the stalls next door, so a guest in a wheelchair gets the same nice room as everyone else. The unit is built to meet federal and California ADA requirements. We are a direct fleet with 30+ years in event and equipment rental, which means we own the trailer, we deliver it with our own drivers and we service it ourselves. Google, Target, Costco, Starbucks and the Oakland A’s have all used trailers from our fleet.

Every unit passes a 120-point inspection before delivery, and the fleet stays young, with trailers three years old or newer. We are licensed and insured, rated A+ by the BBB and backed by hundreds of five-star reviews. Call with your date and address for a same-day quote. Busy? Send the quote form and we will call you back.

Ramp Entry and a Lowered Install for the Portable Accessible Restroom

Most trailers sit high on their axles, which would mean a long, steep ramp. This one is designed to be lowered during the install, so the ramp stays short and the slope stays gentle. The ramp is self-contained, which means it travels with the unit, sets up in a few minutes and has railings on both sides that lead up to a level landing at the door of the accessible room.

Inside, that room is a unisex space with grab bars by the toilet, a sink set low enough to use from a chair and enough floor space to turn a chair around. The two standard rooms sit at the other end of the box, away from the ramp, so foot traffic splits naturally between the two sides of the trailer. One is for women, and one is for men with a urinal added. Each of them has its own steps and railing, so a guest heading for a standard stall never blocks the ramp. Simple layout. No waiting on the ramp.

One climate unit with a digital thermostat heats and cools all three rooms. That matters on a 100 degree September afternoon in Folsom, and it matters again when tule fog settles over Lodi in December and a guest would rather not sit in a cold room. Lights inside and out keep the ramp and stairs easy to see after sunset.

Where an Accessible Restroom Trailer Fits Around Northern California

The plus 2 size covers up to about 200 guests at an event or a crew of up to 30 on a work site. That makes it the most common accessible unit we send out. Public events are a big share. Many city and county event permits around the Bay Area and the Sacramento region ask for at least one accessible toilet, and this trailer covers that with a real bathroom instead of a plastic box on the grass. Farmers markets, park concerts, races, school events at Sacramento State or UC Davis, and church festivals in San Jose and Hayward all fit this pattern.

Schools and clinics are the other half. When a school district renovates its restrooms over the summer, classes often start before the work is done, and students and staff who use wheelchairs still need a usable room near the classrooms. Medical offices, senior living communities and churches face the same problem during remodels, when the only accessible restroom in the building is behind a wall of plastic sheeting for weeks at a time. We also deliver to wineries in Napa and the Sierra foothills, to film sets in San Francisco, and to job sites where a worker on the crew needs an accessible room. Construction managers like that one trailer handles both the crew and an inspector’s visit.

Unsure whether you need the accessible model? Call (209) 202-3741 and tell us about your guests and your permit. We will help you pick the right unit.

Typical Setups for an Accessible Portable Bathroom Trailer

Here are patterns we see again and again in the region, drawn from years of deliveries to schools, homes and city parks, although the details always change a little from one site to the next.

A school restroom renovation in Sacramento County

An elementary school near Elk Grove closes its main restroom building for a summer upgrade that lasts into the first weeks of fall. The district needs an accessible option close to the classrooms. We set the trailer on the blacktop with the ramp facing the main walkway, pull power from a nearby electrical panel that the district electrician has cleared, and service it every week until the new restrooms open. Teachers stop worrying about where a student in a wheelchair will go.

A 90th birthday in a Walnut Creek backyard

A family hosts 80 relatives for a grandmother’s birthday. Several guests use walkers, and the house has a single bathroom up a flight of stairs. We place the trailer on the side lawn with the ramp a few steps from the patio. The guest of honor uses it on her own, without help.

A summer concert series in a city park

A parks department in Livermore or Davis hosts free Friday concerts on the lawn for about 200 people. The event permit asks for an accessible restroom, and the park building closes at dusk. One trailer covers both needs, and our driver comes out each week to pump, refill and restock before the next show.

Site Prep for the Ramp, Power and Water on a Plus 2 Restroom Trailer

Flat ground matters more for this unit than for a trailer with stairs alone, because the ramp has to meet the ground at a gentle angle. A ramp on a slope gets steep fast, so we look for a firm, level pad about 25 feet long and 14 feet wide with the ramp in use, and a smooth path from parking or seating to the foot of the ramp. Pavement, packed decomposed granite and firm turf are fine. Loose gravel and soft lawn after a winter storm in the Santa Cruz Mountains or the Napa Valley are not, and we may bring plywood or mats to firm up the approach.

The trailer needs two dedicated 120 volt, 20 amp circuits within 100 feet, or we bring a generator. The 210 gallon fresh tank covers most single-day events, and the 300 gallon waste tank is pumped on scheduled service visits. If you want to read the rules your event planner or inspector is checking, the 2010 ADA Standards for Accessible Design lay out the federal requirements, and California’s Division of the State Architect covers accessibility for schools and state projects.

What Happens After You Call About a Temporary Restroom Trailer

  1. You call us. Dial (209) 202-3741 or fill out the quote form with the date, the address, your guest count and any permit rules.
  2. We size the unit. We check that the plus 2 covers your crowd, or suggest the ADA plus 6 or a second trailer. The quote is free and has no hidden fees.
  3. We deliver, lower and level it. Our driver positions the trailer, lowers it, sets the ramp and railings, connects power and water and tests every room.
  4. We service it. For longer rentals we pump the waste tank, refill fresh water and restock supplies on a set day.
  5. We pick it up. When your event or project ends, we fold the ramp, hitch up and leave the site clean.

Questions We Hear About the Accessible Plus 2 Bathroom Trailer

Does this trailer meet California accessibility rules?

Yes. It is built to meet federal and California ADA requirements, with a self-contained ramp to the CA standard. Your inspector may still check the path to the ramp, so we place it where that path is smooth and firm.

Can people who do not use a wheelchair use the accessible room?

Yes. It is a unisex room open to anyone, and parents with strollers and older guests often prefer it. Most events leave it open to everyone and simply keep the ramp clear.

How many guests can one plus 2 trailer handle?

Up to about 200 guests at an event, or a work crew of up to 30. Long events, big bars and crowds that all take a break at once push you toward the ADA plus 6.

What if my spot is on a slope?

Send us a photo first. We can level the box on its jacks, but the ramp needs a fairly flat landing at the bottom, so we often shift the trailer a few feet to find better ground.

Do I really need two outlets?

The trailer wants two separate 20 amp circuits within 100 feet. Two outlets on the same breaker will trip it. If you are not sure, we bring a generator.

Can you deliver it today?

Often, yes. Dispatch is open 24/7 with same-day delivery, and for urgent calls we can often be there within 1 to 2 hours. For graduation weekends and fall harvest events, book early.
