Northern California’s #1 Temporary Laundry Trailer Company
The Lavatory NorCal brings on-site laundry as part of the widest selection of luxury trailers in Northern California, so camps, shelters and long jobs get clean clothes without a trip to town. No job is too big or too small. A 4-stall combo puts one washer and dryer next to four private bathrooms for a wedding weekend, and the 8-station laundry trailer runs eight washers and eight dryers for fire camps, evacuation shelters and large-scale deployments for companies like Google and Tesla.
We have the track record to prove it. Thousands of deliveries, the largest fleet of restroom, shower and laundry trailers in the West with over 250 units, an A+ BBB rating and hundreds of 5-star Google reviews. We are a direct fleet, not a reseller: we own every unit and do our own delivery and service. Call (209) 202-3741 at any hour. We can often be there within 1 to 2 hours.
“I cannot express how much I appreciated this company for their services! I got married on 10/07/23 and had an emergency with our bathrooms! Lavatory came in clutch with their bathrooms last minute following a generator for power. Cannot express how grateful my husband and I are for them! The bathrooms were super nice and clean too! I definitely will recommend them to anyone. Thank you so much! 🙂”
“They offer a perfect solution when additional bathroom facilities are needed. Their premium temporary bathroom trailers ensure comfort and cleanliness, making them a great choice for festivals, construction sites, and more.”

Both Portable Laundry Trailers, With Walkthroughs and Spec Sheets
Two ways to put laundry on site. The 8-station is our volume unit. The 4-stall combo adds a laundry room to a trailer that already has four private bathrooms with showers. Each card has the walkthrough, the spec sheet and the trailer’s own page.

8-Station Laundry Trailer
Our high-volume laundry trailer, with industrial machines running side by side, keeps clothes clean for camps, shelters and projects with 100 or more people.

4-Stall Shower Combo With Laundry
Four complete bathrooms with showers plus a separate laundry room, so long stays at retreats, camps and remote projects need only one delivery.
If you are not sure which size fits, tell us the head count, the place and the dates, and we will match the unit on one short call.
What Every On-Site Laundry Unit Includes
Both laundry options arrive ready to run, with the same basics:
Stacked commercial washers and dryers with a full range of cycles, built to run load after load all day long.
A large sink for soaking, stains and muddy work clothes.
A long folding table gives everyone room to sort and fold, so clean clothes never touch the floor.
Two HVAC units keep the room comfortable even when every dryer is running on a hot afternoon.
Bright LED light inside the trailer for early morning starts and late evening loads.
We confirm the circuits or bring the generator plan before delivery.
We level it, hook up water and drain, and test every machine.
If a machine stops, one call gets a tech or a swap.

Planning Capacity for an On-Site Laundry Trailer
Count loads first. A good rule of thumb is one load per person every two or three days on a long stay, and more often for crews who come back soaked in sweat, smoke or mud. A commercial wash cycle runs roughly half an hour, and the dryer takes a bit longer, so each washer and dryer pair finishes a little more than one load an hour once the line gets going. Eight pairs running together turn out about a dozen loads an hour.
Put that together and one 8-station laundry trailer comfortably serves a few hundred people on a multi-day job, as long as loads are spread across the day instead of piled into the hour after dinner. For a group of 30 or fewer, the single washer and dryer in the 4-stall combo is usually enough. Big incidents and long camps sometimes run two laundry units side by side. Ask us. We plan it free.
Decide early who will run the machines, since that choice shapes how smoothly the trailer works. At fire camps and shelters, a staff member or volunteer often handles drop-off bags so loads never sit wet in a drum. At festivals and job sites, people usually run their own loads on a posted schedule. Both work. We service the unit itself, and you decide how your people use it.
On-site laundry versus sending clothes out
The other choices are a laundry service that picks up bags or a van that shuttles people into town. Both sound simple until you count the hours. A pickup service on a remote fire camp in Plumas County or a ranch job outside Red Bluff often runs on a 48 hour turnaround, so crews need three or four days of spare clothes on hand. A shuttle to the nearest coin laundry in Chico or Oroville can eat two hours of a worker’s evening, every few days, for every person on the job. With a unit parked 50 feet from the bunks, a load goes in before dinner and comes out dry before bed. Nobody leaves the site.
Smoke and mud need a little extra care. Clothes from a fire line or a flooded basement should be shaken out and rinsed in the deep sink before they go in a drum, which keeps ash and grit out of the machines and gets the clothes cleaner. Post a short sign with that tip on the door. It works.

Where Temporary Laundry Service Helps Across Northern California
Wildfire is the clearest case in Northern California, and the 2018 Camp Fire in Paradise and the 2021 Dixie Fire in Plumas County both showed how long people can be out of their homes. When a big fire burns in the foothills of Butte, Shasta or Napa County, base camps and evacuation shelters open at fairgrounds and schools, and every piece of clothing smells of smoke within a day. Families who left with one bag need to wash what they have, and fire crews need clean clothes between shifts. Our emergency trailers for Northern California fires and floods roll 24/7, and laundry can ride on the same dispatch as the showers and restrooms.
Storms follow. Winter atmospheric rivers knock out power lines across the region, and utility crews from out of the area set up staging yards for weeks at a time. Refinery turnarounds in Martinez, Benicia and Richmond bring in hundreds of contract workers on long shifts. Harvest crews in the Sacramento Valley, levee repair teams in the Delta and data center builds in the South Bay all go through the same thing. Dirty work clothes pile up fast, and the nearest place to wash them is often a long drive away.
Planned jobs fill the rest of the calendar, from May through October in most years. Multi-day music festivals in San Francisco and Napa house stage crews and vendors on site. Film and TV shoots need wardrobe washed between takes. Summer camps in the redwoods and the Sierra foothills rent laundry when the camp’s own machines fail mid-season. Nonprofits in San Francisco, Oakland and San Jose run laundry days for people without housing. We cover all of it from the same trucks that handle Sacramento restroom and laundry trailer rentals, Oakland trailer rentals for laundry, showers and restrooms, laundry and bathroom trailers in Santa Rosa and Chico laundry and restroom trailer rentals. Every other town we cover is on our NorCal laundry and restroom trailer service areas page.
Crew camps on construction projects follow Cal/OSHA’s Title 8, section 1527, which covers washing facilities and temporary sleeping quarters on job sites. Laundry is the piece of camp life that rule leaves to you, and it is the one crews notice first when it is missing.
Typical Portable Laundry Setups We Plan in NorCal
No two match. These composites show the laundry setups we plan most often, from shelters to job sites, so you can see how a unit fits into a bigger site plan.
An evacuation shelter at a county fairground
A fire pushes 400 people out of the foothills, and the county opens its fairground exhibit hall as a shelter. We set an 8-station laundry trailer beside our shower trailers, tie into the fairground’s 240 volt service and a hose bib, and pump the waste tank on a daily route. Volunteers run a drop-off system at the hall entrance, so families get their clothes back clean and folded the same day, and the line at the laundry never stretches past 20 minutes. The shelter coordinator told us it was the service people thanked them for most.
A refinery turnaround in Contra Costa County
A six-week turnaround brings 250 contract workers to a plant on the Carquinez Strait, about 30 miles northeast of San Francisco. Their work clothes come off covered in grime every night. We park the laundry trailer next to the contractor village, run a generator for the two 50 amp circuits, and service it twice a week. The site manager said fewer people quit halfway through the job. Clean clothes help.
A weekend glamping retreat on the Sonoma Coast
A host books 120 guests into canvas tents for three nights, on land with no buildings at all. The 4-stall combo covers showers, toilets and a washer for towels and spills, and a 5-stall restroom handles the dinner crowd. Guests use the laundry for beach towels and muddy hiking gear. The event planner said it made the site feel like a lodge.
Laundry rarely travels alone, and most of our laundry jobs include at least one other unit. Pair it with our mobile shower trailer rentals for camps and shelters and our portable bathroom trailer rentals for long stays, and add mobile sleeper bunkhouse rentals with 12 private bunks when crews sleep on site. One call books the whole camp.

- We deliver and level it. Our driver sets and levels the trailer, connects water and power, and runs a test cycle on every machine.

Power, Water and Drainage for On-Site Laundry Units
Power is the biggest ask on any laundry job. The 8-station laundry trailer needs two dedicated 50 amp, 240 volt circuits within 100 feet, because eight dryers draw a lot of current at once. Fairgrounds, plants and large buildings often have that service near a loading dock. Most homes and small sites do not have that kind of service on hand. No problem. We bring a generator sized for the full load and park it where the noise will not bother anyone sleeping nearby.
Washers also need a steady water supply, so we connect to a hose bib, a metered hydrant or a water truck, depending on what the site has. Wash water drains to the 750 gallon waste tank, which we pump on our service visits, and we size that schedule to how hard the machines are running. Pick a spot that is close to level and firm. Asphalt or gravel is best, and packed dirt works in dry weather. After winter rain in the foothills or the Delta, we lay plywood under the jacks so they hold their level all week.

Fire season? The Ready.gov wildfire page is a good planning checklist, and we can stage laundry and showers early when a red flag warning is posted.
One call sets the unit, the delivery window and the service plan, and a real person answers the phone 24 hours a day.

Questions About Temporary Laundry Trailer Rentals
Who runs the washers and dryers during the rental?
Your people do. Guests, crews or volunteers run their own loads, and we handle the trailer itself, including pumping, cleaning and machine checks on our service visits.
How long does one load take?
Plan on roughly half an hour to wash and a bit longer to dry. With all eight pairs running, the trailer turns out about a dozen loads an hour.
Is there a smaller option than eight washers?
Yes. The 4-stall combo has one washer and dryer in its own room, next to four private bathrooms with showers. It fits groups of about 30 people.
Can laundry come on the same delivery as showers and restrooms?
Yes. We often deliver laundry, shower and bathroom trailers together and put them on one service route, so you deal with one company and one schedule.

What if a machine stops working?
Call our 24/7 line at (209) 202-3741. We send someone out to fix it, and with eight pairs on board the rest keep running in the meantime.
Can I rent a laundry trailer for just a weekend?
Yes. We rent by the weekend, the week or the month. Festivals and retreats often book a few days, while fire camps and shutdowns keep a unit for weeks.
